Is there any treatment, traditional or non-traditional (such as acupuncture)?

Question:
I have lost a great deal of sensation in my penis - not all - I still have about the same sensitivity to touch as I do to the back of my arm, but much of that wonderful special sensitivity seems to have gone. This has happened gradually over about the last 10 years.

Has anyone else encountered this kind of condition?

Is there any treatment, traditional or non-traditional (such as acupuncture)?

My medical status (and other details) is this -

Age, 50, height 5'11", weight about 163. - excellent physical condition, I work out regularly - very lean body mass. - blood pressure usually about 115/70, blood lipids really good numbers. - No diabetes or other disorders/diseases. - very light social drinker, light smoker (less than 6 cigs/day) but can still run several miles. - testosterone in the low end of the normal range. - I occasionally have minor lower back pain, and have some mild disk compression (but so does pretty much anyone else my age) I have been examined by both a urologist and neurologist at the Mayo Clinic, and they cannot determine the cause of this loss in sensitivity, and claim not to have encountered it before, except in people that had diabetes or some neurological disorder or damage. All my doctors agree that I am in great shape for my age (or even for someone 10 years younger). My libido is somewhat diminished from what it was years ago (you could say back then I was hyper-driven), but still high enough that I pursue sex with my partners, truly enjoy it, and get frustrated when I haven't had any for a while. I can get an erection without viagra with general manual stimulation, although it takes more than it used to. I do not generally wake up with a hard-on anymore (but do occasionally). Viagra works well for me, and I use it when I'm having sex with the benefit of a female. My sex partners are generally attractive and enthusiastic. However, the diminished sensitivity makes it take a long time to reach orgasm (they don't usually mind) and generally requires a major visual component (lights on, positions that lend themselves to visual stimulation). Oral stimulation to orgasm takes a long time, generally longer than the girls can comforatbly undertake. Also, it was JUST PLAIN MORE FUN when I had that extra sensitivity. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on with me here?

Answer:
I watched a TV program about Oestrogn Mimicking substances contained in the food and water we have. These are sourced from plastic wraps and from polystyrene containers. Naturally the effect is to dampen our normal male functions. Notably, frogs have worldwide been on the decrease ( I never get them in my fish pond any more) and crocodiles are also on the decline. Human males worldwide demonstrate a remarkable increase in sperm deformity and decrease in fertility (sperm without tails, two tails, no head etc.). I have noticed in the gym that fewer men sport a good crop of body hair, and increasing numbers have sparse and patchy facial hair - many shave once a week before looking in need of a shave. I wonder if the above observations, penile numbness and erectile disfunction are linked with the oestrogen micking substances? Anyone have more scientific contributions? Could we do or take something to reduce (if not eliminate) effects? Face it, the impromptu hard-on could be a curse, but when it won't wake you in the morning, you know something's missing. . .
